Explore Kentucky’s Bluegrass & Bourbon on Cycle of Life Adventures Bike Tour

BLOWING ROCK, N.C. – Ride among gently rolling pastures that are home to prized thoroughbreds and historic distilleries on Cycle of Life Adventures’ classic Kentucky Bluegrass & Bourbon Bike Tour. Spend six days visiting Lexington and the surrounding towns in the state’s famed Bluegrass region, an area known for its multitude of well-manicured horse farms, its limestone-filtered waters that are crucial for

making bourbon and its history, culture and art.

The tour is available Sept. 5-11, 2021, starting at $2,895 per person based on double occupancy with all airport transfers, accommodations, meals, guides and van support included. For more information, visit https://cycleoflifeadventures.com/tour/kentucky-bluegrass-bourbon-bike-tour/.

“Cycling might not be the first thing you think of when it comes to Kentucky’s Bluegrass region, but its gentle terrain, beautiful scenery and ease of access from major cities make it the ideal location for a tour,” said Elli Sias, owner of Cycle of Life Adventures. “We’ll ride through the emerald green countryside, taking in horse farms and racing history, arts and crafts, and, of course, bourbon along the way.”

Highlights of the Kentucky Bluegrass & Bourbon Bike Tour include:

  • The Keeneland racecourse and Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, the “Horse Capital of the World.” Enjoy a home-style breakfast at the Keeneland Track Kitchen, possibly alongside a notable trainer, jockey or owner, and tour the Horse Park and its museums. Also go on a Unique Horse Farm Tour of the area.

  • Woodford Reserve Distillery in Versailles to sample bourbon. The distillery is a National Historic Landmark, with the spirit first being made on its site in 1812.

  • Shaker Village, with more than 30 original structures from the third-largest Shaker community in the United States between 1805 and 1910.

  • The small town of Berea, the “Folk Arts & Crafts Capital of Kentucky” and home to potters, painters and furniture-makers.

  • And Fort Boonesborough, where live actors entertain and educate with re-enactments of the settlement built by Daniel Boone.

Covering 332 miles, the Kentucky Bluegrass & Bourbon Bike Tour is suitable for recreational and active cyclists alike.
